We welcome the election of a new council and congratulate all the candidates who have supported our campaign.
This dramatic change is no doubt partly due to the concerns local people have about the environment, and we are grateful to all our supporters who have helped us to highlight the environmental destruction mandated by the previous administration council.
We look forward to working with our new council to bring about the changes necessary to protect our publicly owned greenspace, including thousands of mature trees on Maidenhead Golf Course, for the benefit of our community and future generations.
Well done everyone who voted against the vandalism inflicted on our lovely town. We are relying on the new administration to do what the can to rectify this. Hopefully they will be able to overturn some very controversial decisions including building on the Golf Club site. x
So do we Vanessa… Fingers crossed! We will keep you posted on any developments.

So, so delighted and just goes to show that speaking up really can make a difference. At least we can have constructive dialogue and we are now dealing with people who actually want to serve the local community. I am no longer local and couldn’t vote but so, so happy.
Yes we live in hope.
I do hope that the new Council will be less secretive about their discussions with the developer (CALA etc) regarding details of any compromise on the proposed MGC site.
I’d be absolutely amazed and delighted if the project is scrapped – but we need to be fully aware of any new opportunities for reducing impact.
Keep in touch.
This is such fabulous news
Hopefully the new Liberal Democrat controlled council can start to unpick the Conservative BLP (Borough Local Plan) that was so poorly devised.
The past council administration only had one strategy, raising money.
There was not one thought or concern for the well-being of residents or the environment.
Let’s hope the plans can be radically changed or even dropped.
Well done to everyone who stood against the Conservative administration and voted for a change.
