Environmentally damaging planning application submitted to develop Maidenhead Golf Course

Sadly outline planning was approved

Despite years of explaining why this development will be devastating for wildlife, traffic, air pollution and flooding in our community, we’re devastated Cala Homes and RBWM’s outline planning application was approved at last night’s planning meeting (13 Feb).

We thank those councillors at the meeting who asked important questions and tried to address the public’s concerns about these environmentally damaging plans.

We will not give up fighting for the ancient woodland and other vital wildlife habitats that are threatened by this massive development on our green and wooded public open space.

We’d like as many people as possible to come to our community consultation event on Saturday 22 February at Larchfield Community Centre to discuss the best way to protect the ancient woodland at Rushington Copse and to ensure that significant green buffer zones and wildlife corridors are an integral part of the development.

Community Consultation, 22 February 2025

The Maidenhead Great Park campaign group’s Community Consultation drop-in will be held at Larchfield Community Centre, 39 Fane Way, Maidenhead SL6 2TN, from 10am until 4pm.

  1. Have you considered a community land trust to protect the open areas? And pressing Cala for some community led homes on the site, as co- housing, co- operative, and truly affordable to local people. The CLT model could help salvage some community benefit here, and there might be a potential opportunity to work with Cala if they can be persuaded there is enough community support.
