Ask your councillors to reject the BLP

Our best chance of stopping our council’s environmentally damaging plan to build 2,000 flats and houses on our greenbelt at Maidenhead golf course, is if the majority of our councillors vote to reject the Borough Local Plan (BLP) when it comes to Full Council for adoption. 

The meeting is likely to happen sometime in January, so please use your democratic voice and urgently email your ward councillors to ask them to reject the BLP.

The key reasons to reject the golf course development are that it will lead to the destruction of hundreds of mature trees, damage important wildlife habitats, take away our green lung, increase road traffic pollution and flood risk in our town. 

Here’s a list of the Maidenhead wards, and their councillors:

Belmont

Belmont Ward is represented by cllr.baldwin@rbwm.gov.uk and cllr.bond@rbwm.gov.uk. Both voted to keep the golf course green open space when we took our petition to full council in March.

Bisham and Cookham

Bisham and Cookham ward is represented by cllr.brar@rbwm.org.uk and cllr.clark@rbwm.gov.uk.  Cllr Brar voted to keep the space green, but Cllr Clark voted to sell it for development when we took our petition to full council in March.

Boyn Hill

Boyn Hill ward is represented by cllr.bhangra@rbwm.gov.uk and cllr.carroll@rbwm.gov.uk.  Both voted to sell the golf course for development when we took our petition to full council in March.

Bray

Bray ward is represented by cllr.coppinger@rbwm.gov.uk and cllr.walters@rbwm.gov.uk.  Both voted to sell the golf course for development when we took our petition to full council in March.

Cox Green
